As this week rolls to a close on this beautiful Saturday morning here in Summerland Key, Florida I would like to take the time to reflect on the week. Throughout the week we’ve experienced God’s love and power in more ways than one. Whether it be hearing someone’s account of what their life has been since the storm and the hardships they’ve faced, praying over an issue on the work site, or just seeing the breath-taking sunsets at the end of the long work day we know that God surrounds us.
We are thankful for the amount of work that we have accomplished on and off of the worksite, and how we’ve grown ourselves in Christ through His work. As we pack up our belongings, it is important to realize how blessed we are to be able to serve through our mission work. It refreshes our way of thinking and being while on these trips so that we can take back our experiences to share and hope others feel called as we do.
We want to thank the Boy Scout camp staff for feeding and housing us this week, Big Pine UMC for providing us with work to be done, and Jesus Christ for his sacrifice that allows us to do this.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” -Isaiah 6:8
